Emily & Adam’s Colorful, Modern Wedding at The Joule

Some weddings are big and bustling. Others are short, sweet, and beautifully intentional…like this one at The Joule in downtown Dallas. Emily and Adam opted to skip the traditional “getting ready” photos and instead focus on what mattered most to them: each other, their people, and the joy of the moment. We snuck in a few quick portraits before the ceremony, just the two of them soaking in the energy of the city, including views of the iconic “Eye” peeking in from the balcony.

The ceremony itself was sweet and intimate, with fewer than 30 guests gathered to witness the couple exchange vows. Even more special, the bride’s brother officiated, making the moment all the more personal and meaningful.

After the ceremony, I stayed to photograph a bit of the reception and all the vibrant design details, and then quietly slipped out. This couple didn’t need full-day coverage, and that’s something I always love to highlight: every couple is different, and every wedding day deserves photography coverage that fits the vibe. Whether it’s a full-day event or a few intentional hours, I’m here for what matters most to you.

So much from this wedding was DIY, but a big thank you to these amazing vendors: venue, catering, rentals - The Joule | florist - A Stylish Soiree | cake - Fancy Cakes by Lauren | hair & makeup - House of Dear | dress - Jenny Yoo
